22 thousand without electricity in the valley
The storms knocked out power to thousands in the valley.
PHOENIX β Thousands were without power after storms tore through the valley Tuesday night. Here’s a look at the numbers as of 4:25 a.m.:
The Salt River Project reported about 9,500 outages.
Arizona Public Service reported about 400 outages.
There are reports of downed power lines in several areas in the valley.
The National Weather Service said the storms caused heavy rain and flash floods.
The NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for several areas in the valley, including Glendale, Scottsdale and Peoria.
The storms followed previous severe thunderstorm warnings for Surprise, Sun City and Mirage earlier in the day.
