A severe thunderstorm warning for Berks and Lehigh counties on September 7, 2023
Webstock Thunderstorm Weather Warning
The National Weather Service issued another severe thunderstorm warning until 8:15 p.m. Thursday for southeastern Berks County and Chester County.
Hail and winds of up to 60 mph were listed as hazards.

Areas affected include: Redding, Coatesville, Wyomissing, Downingtown, Kennett Square, Birdsboro, Oxford, Sinking Spring, Laureldale, Parkersburg, West Grove, Wernersville, Honeybrook, Elverson, New Morgan, Homeville, Glen Roy, Springridge, Cochranville and Mt. Vernon told NWS.
The National Weather Service has issued another severe thunderstorm warning until 5:30 PM for most of Berks County and parts of Lehigh and Carbon counties.
“At 4:47 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Locust Lake State Park to Strausstown to Brickerville, moving east at 35 mph,” the warning read.

Radar again indicated wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hailstones.
Redding, Lehighton, Wyomissing, Palmerton, Birdsboro, Kutztown, Jim Thorpe, Hamburg, Fleetwood, Sinking Spring, Laureldale, Nesquehoning, Womelsdorf, Wernersville, Robesonia, Leesport, Shoemakersville, Bernville, Lyons and Strawstown are among the areas that could be affected.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 p.m. across the region and in a total of 39 counties in Pennsylvania.
A severe thunderstorm warning has been extended until 3 p.m. Thursday, including north-central Berks County and west-central Lehigh Counties. Interstate 78 between mile markers 24 and 41 may now be affected.

At 2:13 p.m., a severe thunderstorm occurred over Shoemakersville, or 11 miles southeast of Schuylkill Haven, moving north at 20 mph, the National Weather Service reported.
Radar indicated hailstones the size of half a dollar, maximum.
The warning reads: “Slight damage to vehicles is possible.” “Winds are likely to damage roofs, siding, trees and power lines.”
Affected areas include: Hamburg, Leesport, Shoemakersville, Lenhartsville, Wanamakers, New Tripoli and Centerport.
