A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Hartford/Tolland County
The National Weather Service just issued the warning for northern Connecticut.

Update: The National Weather Service Boston/Norton has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Tolland and Hartford counties until 9:30 a.m.
“At 8:36 a.m. EDT, severe thunderstorms were present along a line extending from near Canton to Plainville to near Southington, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTY, Conn. – The National Weather Service in Norton has issued a flash flood warning for Hartford County and parts of Tolland County until 11 a.m. Wednesday.
“Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of northwest Tolland, Hartford, and southeast Hampden counties until 930 a.m. EDT…
“At 825 a.m. EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near the center of New Hartford to Bristol to near Wolcott. The motion was northeast at 35 mph.
Danger…Winds gusting up to 50 mph and pea-sized hailstones falling. Heavy rain and frequent lightning are expected.
Impact… Strong winds may cause minor damage such as falling branches. There is expected to be little or no impact from the cold.

Hartford, Enfield, Southington, Glastonbury, Newington, Vernon, Windsor, Wethersfield, South Windsor, Farmington, Simsbury, Bloomfield, Berlin, Rocky Hill, and Avon.
A flash flood warning has been issued until 11 a.m
“At 750 a.m. EDT, Doppler radar indicated that thunderstorms were producing heavy rain. Heavy rain associated with a strong thunderstorm in southwestern Connecticut has a history of producing heavy rain and causing flash flooding. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to “3 inches in one hour. Flooding is continuing or expected to begin soon.”
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include: Hartford, New Britain, West Hartford, Bristol, Manchester, East Hartford, Enfield, Southington, Westfield, Glastonbury, Newington, Vernon, Windsor, Agawam, Wethersfield, South Windsor, Farmington, Simsbury, Bloomfield. And Berlin.
