AK-Xolotl Make the most of its deadly yet fascinating premise with mountains of weapons and even more unique sea urchins to play with. If you’re a fan of cute roguelike games, then you need to check out this top-down shooter developed by 2Awesome Studio.
In this Bullet Hell game, you play as a lone sea urchin on a mission to rescue your kidnapped children and, more importantly, find the food that went missing with them. This mission will see you fighting across different biomes and against various weapons-wielding enemies such as spinning crabs and rabid forest dwellers.
No one runs the same way thanks to the random paths you can follow, but all roads eventually lead to the deadly boss that lies in wait at the end. Although this helps make each run feel a little new, the limited map layouts mean you’re stuck seeing a past experience more often than not.

There’s also a ton of weaponry for you to get your little paws on. While the classic AK gives you unlimited ammo, you always have the option of carrying another weapon. This could be anything from a katana to an automatic pistol. Each weapon brings with it its own benefits, such as power or rate of fire, and drawbacks, such as limited ammunition.

While I like the dungeon crawl element AK-XolotlTaking care of all the little sea urchins I found scattered around the map was a welcome change from the chaotic dungeon runs. With time, care and lots of food, I’ve grown all the sea urchin species into their adult form – which I can then play with.
Fortunately, you won’t have to save these extra weapons for a rainy day, as you’ll always be able to pick up more as you progress. Almost every room you encounter will have more than one door to choose from after clearing it of enemies. Behind these doors there is often a new gun, boosters, coins, or even a baby sea urchin that needs rescuing. So, before firing off an entire magazine on some aggressive bunnies, it’s best to look ahead and see if the new weapon will be available next.
There are also useful power-ups you can work with. Once the room has been cleared of rabid animals, you can choose one of three additional powers to aid you on your adventure. While some are simple, like giving you more health or speeding up your speed, others are more creative and powerful. You can leave a trail of sticky substances that will slow opponents, stun enemies that get too close to you, or even damage attackers when you’re hurt. Each power-up is crucial in getting you through the boss room and beyond, as you dash through different biomes and obstacles, facing more and more dangerous enemies.
You could sink hours into Bullet Hell as a result. The number of different power-ups and weapons means that there are plenty of experiments you can try in order to create a potential game-winning combination. No matter how many times you end up back at the start, you’ll always want to come back for more if your new set is a success.
Nature or nurture
While watching the hyper-aggressive nature of these weapon-wielding sea urchins can be fun, the similarity of the map layouts can make playthroughs frustratingly repetitive. But fortunately, there is more to do AK-Xolotl Instead of just shooting forest dwellers, which will help mix things up.

One of my favorite things to do is take care of the little sea urchins that you find throughout the maps. Next, you’ll have to cook meals and feed the teenage sea urchins to ensure they grow strong and healthy. Only after they reach adulthood can you switch characters and play through levels as them.
It’s a great alternative to simply unlocking new skins, and that way, you have more incentive to rescue the little sea urchins because, as cute as they are, they provide a fun way to fill your time between hellish runs.
However, if permadeath and mass replay aren’t for you, be sure to think things through before getting into it AK-Xolotl, No matter how far you go, once you die, you will start over from the beginning.
