Denver Broncos vs Las Vegas Raiders weather: Thunderstorms may impact game
The first week of the 2023 NFL season has arrived, but there’s a chance the weather gods could impact or even delay today’s game. The forecast has a chance of thunderstorms throughout the game and that chance increases as we progress through the night. Therefore, the game can be affected by rain and wet weather, and will likely be delayed if severe weather conditions begin to occur.
⛈️ Warning: The weather is busy today. Showers + storms early 1pm, which could lead to problems @ bronco Game. We welcome the major threat from any storm today.

Coach Sean Payton was asked about the weather on Friday, and he noted that he was aware of the weather threat and said “there’s a good chance of rain later.”
“Yes, (there is) a chance of rain. Good chance of rain later. The later in the game, the greater the chances of rain. The sun is shining over our tunnel, it’s a problem (with) shadows. All of that.”
With the threat of lightning and hail in these storms, there is a possibility that we will see this game delayed a bit until the severe weather passes. Payton was asked how he would handle these situations if they happened during a game. He told reporters that he dealt with these issues several times with the New Orleans Saints when they played in Tampa Bay. Pop-up thunderstorms are common in Florida this time of year, so they happen. The team goes inside and stays outstretched and ready to go when they are told they are ready to go, he told reporters.
“We had three or four delays in New Orleans — you know, (in) Tampa. You go in, stay extended, and get ready to go.
We hope the severe weather stays away and all we get is some rain in this game. It will be interesting to see which team will handle this weather better. Both numbers have heavy elements in their attack, so we could see some additional focus on this part of the game. However, quarterback Russell Wilson played most of his career in Seattle, which is known for its wet weather, so he’s used to dealing with the elements throughout his career.
At the end of the day, this is something to keep an eye on, especially if you’re going to the game later in the day. Be prepared for rain and the possibility of severe weather impacting and delaying the game slightly.
