Denver Weather: Snow is expected February 8-11 in Colorado

DENVER (KDVR) — Don’t let the warm workweek weather fool you, more snow is expected.

Wednesday and Thursday will be in the 50s, but a change will come on Friday.

Thursday will be a mild day with highs in the lower 50s. Skies will be partly cloudy with a chance of light rain or a quick drizzle in the afternoon.

Temperatures will drop Thursday night, with snow chances remaining Friday morning. But temperatures on Friday will be in the 40s, which will melt some of the accumulations.

Most of the snow is expected to fall in the Front Range and foothills on Saturday. Highs on Saturday will only be in the mid 30s with overcast skies.

Skies will be clear Sunday afternoon with high temperatures in the upper 30s and light winds.

Snow forecast for the weekend

The Pinpoint Weather team is still adjusting snow totals.

Based on the latest weather models, it looks like there will be less than a foot of snow falling throughout the entire weekend across the state.

Weather Determination: Total snow by February 11

Snow is expected to fall Friday morning and afternoon, with about an inch of accumulation possible in the Front Range.

Most of the snow will fall on Saturday, although not much is expected.

The metro could pick up a few inches in the afternoon and early night hours. The latest weather models show four inches in Denver by the end of the weekend while mountain cities could get less, around 1-3 inches.

Total snowfall after 5 day system

While the metro area saw above-average temperatures during the work week, the high country is getting snow on Wednesday and Thursday.

Snow totals in the high country could reach more than a foot by Saturday night.
