Enhanced Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued for Metro Tucson to Phoenix with Pinal County included | The strength of the weather in Arizona

The Arizona Weather Force has upgraded part of the severe weather statement issued yesterday (Reference A below) to an official enhanced severe thunderstorm watch for Maricopa, Pinal, Pima and Santa Cruz counties, effective this afternoon and evening and ending at midnight tonight.
The southeast to northwest flow evident from yesterday evening’s storm activity will still be present as Hurricane Hillary’s outflow effect from the storms moves into western Mexico. This will cause thunderstorms to develop in the Tucson/Pinal forecast areas and ride through the main upper divergent area this evening along I-10 for another classic event in the I-10 corridor. Today’s storms will have dust storms ahead, damaging winds, large hail at times, heavy rain, and even the possibility of isolated tornado activity.
An enhanced severe thunderstorm watch means conditions are favorable for more than 70 mph wind gusts and large hailstones within the strongest cells in the watching area and is the final forecast for any severe weather statement area.
If you are in the Colorado River Valley, Western Arizona, or Yavapai areas, you must continue to use Reference A below).
Saturday: A sweeping kick from Hillary’s outer band will move through the same areas at this hour, and some of those storms will be stronger, increasing the tornado risk. I will be monitoring this ongoing situation closely so stay tuned to the Arizona Weather Force.
Remember, my Tropical Storm Warning issued the other day is still in effect for the western half of Arizona (Reference B below).
