Locally dense fog

There is a parked frontal boundary at the top, providing ideal fog conditions throughout the area.

Light surface winds, warm air aloft acting as a blanket, and abundant moisture provided by recent rains and melting snow are all contributing factors to the fog.

There will be little change to the overall picture throughout the day today. About the only change would be a slight increase in temperature, though afternoon Highs range from the low to mid 40s.

The fog will shift, becoming less at times and increasing at other times. Higher elevations will be particularly vulnerable to fog throughout the day.

Tonight, Fog should increase, making travel difficult with very low visibility.

The fog will be somewhat disrupted After midnight As another batch of rain moves in. This rain will fall for several hours and should push north out of the area Daybreak. Scattered rain, light drizzle and some remaining areas of fog are possible Friday morning.

Temperatures will initially drop into the upper 30s Tonightthen rises again to the low and mid 40s Friday morning. Friday afternoon We’ll see our warmest readings for the week with many areas approaching or just above 50 degrees.

Heavy rain and drizzle will continue Friday until Friday night. Fog is likely to increase again after Sun set Also, with calm winds.

The cold air will start moving Overnight, Allow temperatures to reach the mid-30s by Saturday morning.

Weekend weather forecast

Saturday It will be another gloomy day with lots of cloud cover. However, rainfall will be rare, and many areas will remain dry.

It will still be a bit mild, but much cooler than Friday. Look for afternoon highs around 40 degrees.

On Saturday, low pressure will head northeast across the Deep South on its way to the mid-Atlantic. Rain from this depression may reach our region soon Sunday morning.

Temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid 30s on Sunday, bringing rain and snow. This low doesn’t look particularly strong, but there could be some accumulating snow, especially at higher elevations.

Given the uncertainty about the exact path of the depression and temperatures in our region, the exact details remain a mystery. The chances of significant snowfall are still low, but not non-existent, so we should watch closely for any last-minute surprises you might try.

Most likely, it looks like a mixed event with variable snow amounts based on elevation, with most of it accumulating Late Sunday into Sunday night.

Cold air will be pulled into the area behind this system with fresh northerly winds on Monday. But wind speeds are not expected to reach 30 mph.

Temperatures rising on Monday It will be near or just below 30 degrees. A few limited lake effect snow showers will be possible.

Most of next week looks calm, with just a few showers or flurries here or there. Temperatures will hang in the 30s The first half of the weekThen it may head towards 40 degrees Later this week.

Mild air remains possible next weekend and the following week, but signs are not as warm or consistent as they once were.
