Garmin Quatex 7 watch
Jason has worn this watch for over a year. He can cull fish, track kayaking, sync the electronics on his boat, navigate using a compass, and much more with this watch. Plus, it tracks all your fitness, heart condition, and more while you work out and participate in outdoor activities. If your outdoorsman is the type of person who does it all, this is one of the most beautiful and functional outdoor watches on the market. Jason owned an Apple iWatch before owning a Garmin Quatix 7 and says the Garmin is far superior in many aspects of fitness and fishing.

Baggio vega readers sunglasses
I’ve worn Vega readers now for months on a wide variety of fishing trips. I’ve used them in large lakes, small lakes, clear streams for smallmouths, trout streams, wooded lakes and more. The Vega Frames are very comfortable thanks to the padded nose section and padded ear section of the temples. While the frames provide maximum coverage area, they don’t feel heavy or pressure on your head. They are very light and fit very well.
Readers make fishing more fun for me. Tying knots becomes more difficult with age. And when you catch a lot of fancy bait, the little knots on the small bait get really stressful. So these new reader options from Bajio are a huge relief to an old-eyed fisherman like me.

Standard knives
If your outdoorsmen are serious about always being prepared, a quality knife is hard to beat. Benchmade arguably makes some of the most beautiful everyday carry knives, hunting knives, and carving knives around today. Many of us carry Benchmade knives every day and can highly recommend them as a special, quality gift for any hunter or outdoorsman. These knives are precision crafted in Oregon by expert knife craftsmen and sharpened to the finest edge on the strongest, longest blades you will find. Some models we recommend include:

GCI outdoor sun lounger
At 36, I can already feel the old man inside me settling down. Not so much in how I feel physically – I’m still holding up, thank God. But when it comes to simple things done in the sun, like sitting on the beach or next to a sports field, I find myself searching for any source of shade I can find in an attempt to keep my behavior from quickly deteriorating into behavioral behavior. Frowning old man. And I’ve already gotten to the place where I want to test out those rocking chairs in front of Cracker Barrel, imagining what it would be like to have a mascot sitting on the porch overlooking the back 40.
I did the same daydream several times while walking at the local Sports Academy and outdoors as well, popping into one of the GCI Outdoor Rocker Chairs. I haven’t bought one yet, but I find the idea of doing so quite daunting at times. Now that they have one with built-in shade in the GCI Outdoor SunShade Rocker Chair, I may have to bite the bullet. Unless someone in my circle beats me to it, hint, hint, wink, wink. At $79.99, it’ll be hard to go wrong if you’re looking for a gift for the outdoorsman in your life.

Eno JungleNest Hammock
If you’ve never gotten back from using ENO, it’s a very enjoyable experience. It’s hard for me to go through the swing and not experience it. But most of those old-fashioned ropes cut me off pretty quickly. A few minutes later I found myself clumsily trying to roll and climb my way out. My wife got me into the ENO deal, which is basically a hammock made from a heavy-duty, lightweight nylon material. You can stay in one for hours, and even sleep in it if you wish. Especially since they now have a JungleNest version with the linkable bug grid.
Compact and stowable in a 5″ x 10″ bag, it’s the perfect gift for the toss-and-go person in your life. Take it to the local park or on a week-long kayak/camping trip. The bug net can be attached or removed using fasteners. And although the 10-foot ENO weighs only 20 ounces, it is designed to support 300 pounds. At $109.95, this is another great gift for anyone who enjoys the outdoors, or at least everything related to the outdoors minus the bugs.

Hoka Cliftons
I’ve never been a big fan of high dollar sneakers. I’ve walked too many miles in a pair of $60 tennis shoes to spend more than a hundred on any of them. Or at least I thought so. I recently went to a Hoka retailer and they did a full examination of my feet. It was kind of superficial and cool at the same time. And this kid running the little deal named me the exact model and size that fit my feet best. They brought Hoka Clifton 9s in size 11 wide and I tried them out. And if I don’t get these for Christmas or my next birthday between now and then, I’ll probably go get them myself.
These shoes were the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on my feet. Strong and comfortable at the same time, and so light and with a spring that makes moving forward almost easy, I finally understand the hype. As a guy who spends long hours on the front deck of a boat, I think these things will take away a lot of the fatigue I feel in my legs after a long day of fishing. The Clifton 9s were right for me. Another model from Hoka other than Cliftons may be right for you. Most Hokas range in price from about $110 to $180.

Sotto Amicus Cookware Set
When you’re talking about camping, kayaking, and hiking gear, a compact and practical set is the one you’re looking for. These are two of the defining characteristics of the Soto Amicus Stove Cookset Combo. This seared cooking set weighs less than a pound and is slightly smaller than a cantaloupe. The perfect size to store in your bag or boat to cook your catch, heat up a can of beans, or brew a cup of coffee. The cooking set includes one small and one large pot for cooking and serving more complex meals, and the small pot can be used as a lid for the larger pot as well.
Although the fuel canister and pots pictured must be purchased separately, they can be stored inside the pots for transport along with the included burner, again making this an example of a throw-and-go travel cooker. The built-in igniter also eliminates the need to keep up with a box of matches or a lighter. And this country boy is already thinking about how to use this deal to start a campfire in a pinch — even though the manufacturer probably doesn’t recommend it. For $49.99, this makes a great gift for the camper, hiker, or kayaker in your life.

Cannondale Adventure Neo Allroad S Electric Bike
Every child loves a bike, and every adult man is still a little child at heart. I do not think so? Put it on one of these bad boys and see for yourself. While this is a product I don’t have any personal experience with, it’s another product I often drool over while browsing REI. I can see myself strapping an inflatable kayak onto the back rack, throwing a backpack over my shoulder with my ENO and Soto Cookset, and setting off on some adventure. As traffic gets worse, this bike can also get me around town for a quick ride to the grocery store or a business trip to write at the local coffee shop.
Priced at $2,025.00, this bad boy can reach speeds of up to 28 mph and has a built-in Smart Reserve battery feature. In case you bite off a little more than you can chew, there’s a 5-10 mile backup battery to help you get home. This e-bike from Cannondale also has hydraulic disc brakes to ensure plenty of stopping power no matter the speed or road conditions. No doubt this is a big ticket, but what a gift.
