Greater Manchester hour-by-hour weather forecast as a warning from 2pm today – and when storms are due where you live

After days of brilliant sunshine, the Met Office’s weather warning for thunderstorms comes into force in Greater Manchester at 2pm today – Saturday.

The warning area covers central Greater Manchester and extends north to Bolton and to the Wigan border in the west.




The Met Office warning said: “Some heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely, which may lead to some disturbance.

“Spray and flash flooding may lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

“When floods or lightning strikes, there is a possibility of delays and cancellation of some train and bus services. There is a small possibility of power outages and loss of other services to some homes and businesses.

“There is a small possibility that homes and businesses will quickly be inundated, with some buildings being damaged by floodwaters, lightning, hail or strong winds.”
