The Met Office has updated its snow weather warning for the area and will remain in place for six hours.

The first amber weather warning will last from midday until 6pm on Thursday 8 February.

Heavy snow is expected to fall from Thursday afternoon until early evening.

There will be another yellow weather warning covering the Bradford area on Friday.

An amber weather warning on Thursday could mean some rural communities could become isolated, cutting off power and other services such as cell phone coverage, and travel delays.

It comes after council teams were urged to “make sure you’re on top of things” ahead of heavy snowfall.
