PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Temperatures rebounded a bit Thursday after a period of very cold days.

The weather will remain relatively calm around the Delaware Valley, with warmer and lighter winds. Conditions remain cloudy with highs near 35 and low-like temperatures in the upper 20s.

Consider this the calm before the storm. Another round of snow moves in on Friday with several inches of snow possible.

Snow timing

Snow will start falling on Friday by mid to late morning. The heaviest snow will likely fall between 9am and 3pm and will taper off by the evening.

A winter weather advisory goes into effect from 4am to 10pm Friday, and the next CBS Philadelphia weather advisory will be in effect all day for snow.

Another 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected across the region, although some areas may see more. This comes on the heels of Tuesday system that dropped more than 3 inches in Philadelphia –And it’s over The snow drought that the city has been experiencing for almost two years.

Although it’s not a “huge” snowstorm according to meteorologist Kate Bellew, the timing of the system will likely impact morning and evening commutes.
