Lancashire hour-by-hour weather forecast with thunderstorms hitting the county

Thunderstorms are set to hit Lancashire today (September 10) with forecasters predicting flooding, lightning, hail and strong winds.

A yellow warning is in place from 2pm to 11.59pm. It covers the entire province although higher elevation areas are expected to receive the worst weather.




According to the Met Office, flooding of homes and businesses could occur quickly. There is also the possibility of damage to some buildings due to floodwaters, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.

The Met Office warned that some communities could become isolated if roads are flooded. Power outages may also occur and other services may be lost to some homes and businesses.
