Library News: Week of November 12, 2023 – The Globe

WORTHINGTON — Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open 9am-7pm Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm Friday, and 9am-1pm Saturday. Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Holiday closures in November: The Worthington and Adrian libraries will close at 5pm on Wednesday, November 22 and will remain closed through Saturday, November 25 in observance of Thanksgiving.

Worthington Library Youth Programming

Monday: Wii (grades 4-9), after school until 4:45 p.m

Tuesdays: Kids Club (grades K-5), after school until 4:45 p.m

Wednesday: Storytime (toddler and preschool), 10-11 a.m.; Just Gurls (girls grades 5-9), after school until 4:45 p.m

Thursday: Kids Club (grades K-5), after school until 4:45 p.m

Please call the library at (507) 295-5340 to register your children. Children are responsible for their own transportation to and from the library. Please pick up your children by 5 p.m

Adrian library programming

Christmas watercolor: Come learn the basics of watercolor painting and then create four Christmas cards to take home with you! The class runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, December 2, with Mackenzie Mulder. Call the library at (507) 483-2541 or email adrianlib@co.nobles.mn.us to register. (Ages 13 and up please.)

Worthington Library Adult Programming

November 14: AARP is presenting “Protect Yourself from Fraud and Identity Theft” live via Zoom at 2 p.m. at Ecumen Meadows.

November 14: Board Game Night, 6-8pm (18+ please)

New large print books for adults: “Chapter Two” by Danielle Steele, “The Exchange” by John Grisham, “A Kidnapping at Christmas” by Rhonda Starnes, “Their Holiday Secret” by Betsy St. Amant, and “The Cowboy’s Christmas Settlement” by Jill Kemmerer.

New books for children: “Renly’s Dragon Kingdom: Out of the Darkness”, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: No Brainer”, “Bamboo Kingdom: Dark Sun”, “Ser Morien: Legend of the Knight of the Round Table”, and “Turbo Special Delivery”

Offer and sell holidays: The annual Holiday Fair and Sale is open now and runs through December 22nd. The offer and sale is open during normal business hours, as well as from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays, December 2, 9, and 16.

Art Club: Art Club meets the fourth Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. There is no cost to join and everyone is welcome! Visit our Facebook page to see past Art Club projects.
