BALTIMORE — Patchy areas of drizzle, fog and rain develop tonight. Rain is likely on Thursday with more fog and mild temperatures.

Looking into this evening, we will continue to remain cloudy and cool with temperatures mainly in the 40s. We will see a development in precipitation, especially as we move into tonight. Temperatures will remain in the 40s or slowly rise to near 50 overnight. Along with the milder temperatures will come areas of dense, patchy fog. Please be careful if you need to travel later tonight through Thursday morning.

We will see rounds of rain on Thursday with areas of fog. Some fog may remain locally dense throughout the day. Temperatures will rise to nearly 60 degrees. Rainfall totals from rain later tonight into Thursday night are expected to range from 0.50″ to 0.75″. While there may be some minor flooding in areas of poor drainage, we do not expect any widespread disruption.

We will see another round of rain Thursday night with areas of heavy fog. Overnight lows Thursday into Friday morning will be unusually mild with temperatures only reaching the 60s.

Friday turns unseasonably warm, especially during the afternoon. Look for dense fog early in the morning, then partial clearing during the afternoon hours with a westerly breeze. This will help temperatures rise into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Most of the day appears to be rain-free as well. The only exception will be a little rain early Friday morning.

The latest weekend forecast calls for Saturday to be drier and milder as well. Expect partly sunny skies with highs in the mid 50s on Saturday. A wave of low pressure will bring rain to the area Saturday night into Sunday. Along with the rain cold winds will come from the northeast at 10 to 20 mph gusting up to 30 mph. The exact intensity of Sunday afternoon’s rain is a bit uncertain due to the timing of the storm. At this time, we want to prepare you to get wet, so it’s important that you dress appropriately for the rain and stay warm as well.

So, for the Ravens’ big AFC Championship game, at 3 p.m. Sunday, scattered rain and wind are expected with temperatures in the 40s. It’s best to dress up to stay warm and wear a purple raincoat. Please keep an eye on the weather forecast for Sunday, as it may change since it is only Wednesday. The WJZ First Alert Weather team will update the forecast for Sunday all week long with the latest information.
