Maryland Weather: Rainy evening and night in the Baltimore area
Baltimore– Showers have hit the area and more consistent rain is possible later tonight into early Monday morning.
After a mainly cloudy and humid Sunday, scattered showers will arrive across the region this evening.
We will see showers continue to become more numerous throughout the mid and late evening hours.
Overnight, steady to heavy rain is possible, especially in Baltimore and pointing east across the Eastern Shore.
The latest computer model data indicates that many areas of the Eastern Shore could see more than an inch of rain! Areas in and around Baltimore City could see up to a half-inch of rain, if not a little more by the time the rain ends early Monday.
New Forecast: The latest data coming in looks more pleasant for Baltimore and points east across the East Coast. Rainfall totals appear to be 0.50 inches, locally higher, in and around Baltimore, but rain totals could exceed 1 inch across many parts of the East Coast. Rain showers will come out on Monday during the morning hours.
There will be enough shower activity to last so I can have an umbrella for the morning commute and for the kids waiting at the bus stop.
Rain will continue until at least 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. in Baltimore City and possibly into the late morning across Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Temperatures will be in the 60s.
Bus Stop Forecast Monday: Most of Maryland will be dry Monday morning. Showers can last until 7am, so a small umbrella is a good idea. Showers will continue on the eastern shore until 10am. Everyone gets dry when the kids come home from school or play sports outdoors. @WJZ pic.twitter.com/BQzTuhuQlx

The weather is expected to improve Monday afternoon.
While we still can’t rule out an isolated shower or two, skies should become partly sunny with an increasing gusty breeze from the northwest.
This will help wick away moisture and bring more comfortable air to the area. Monday evening looks very nice with mainly clear skies and temperatures in the lower 70s.
The best weather during the week will be from Tuesday until Friday, with a large area of high pressure dominating our weather.
This will protect us from any storms and bring us several days of partly to mostly sunny skies, comfortable temperatures, along with low humidity. Highs each day will be within a degree or two of 80 degrees.
Maryland 4-Day Forecast: Beautiful weather builds Monday afternoon as gusty winds help push through clouds and allow humidity levels to drop. September is known for producing some of the most beautiful days of the year, and this week is no exception. Great weather ahead! @WJZ pic.twitter.com/IneSHKttik

We’ll be watching carefully for a coastal storm heading south next weekend.
The high pressure area that has been protecting our weather during the work week will slide eastward into the Atlantic Ocean. How quickly this high pressure moves east combined with the strength and size of the storm to our south will determine when and how much rain we will see next weekend.
At this time, there is at least a chance of some rain Saturday into Sunday with gusty and cool easterly winds off the ocean. Keep checking the forecast for updates!
Watching next weekend: The large area of high pressure that has been providing us with a beautiful week will slide eastward over the Atlantic Ocean. How quickly this high moves will determine how quickly and how much rain will fall from the south next weekend. Expect breezy and sometimes humid weather @WJZ pic.twitter.com/ULuHQ9xDV7
