Michigan winter storm: live weather, radar updates

Forecasters expect up to 8 inches of snow to hit parts of mostly southeastern Michigan on Friday.

Moderate to heavy rain snow is expected in the afternoon and evening. Snowfall rates of up to an inch per hour are possible before the snow turns to rain with temperatures rising into the mid-30s in the evening.

Power outages, flights start being cancelled

As the biggest storm of the season rolls into Michigan, people across the state are already feeling its impact.

Whiteout conditions, strong winds that lead to dangerous roads and frequent power outages in parts of the state are the biggest concerns — even metro Detroit, which will bear the brunt of the storm, can't avoid damage.
