
Higher than average temperatures
An area of low pressure passes over the Finger Lakes this morning.
Pre-low precipitation has already moved out of the region, but there is still plenty of cloud cover across the region thanks to a secondary low over the northern Great Lakes region. A stray rain shower cannot be ruled out today, but the majority of the area should remain dry from here on out. It will be your best chance to get a few glimpses of sunshine Later in the afternoon.
Winds will shift to westerly and northwesterly this morning and continue until the afternoon. Wind speeds will be around 10 mph with gusts remaining below 30 mph.
The wind will shift to the southwest Tonight With the sky becoming partly cloudy for a while this evening. New clouds will roll in after midnight. Winds and clouds should keep nighttime temperatures near or just below 40 degrees.
Friday It won’t be quite as warm as today, but it will still be slightly above seasonal averages. High temperatures will be near or slightly on either side of 50 degrees.
It is expected that there will be more draw breaks on Friday than today, especially in the afternoon hours.
Winds will return to the west and directly northwest at steady speeds at or above 10 mph. Most gusts should stay near or below 30 mph, but some localized gusts may exceed 30 mph.
Friday nightA mild cold front will move south across the region. Some rain or flurries will be possible along the front, followed by some lake effect rain and flurries that will continue on Saturday morning.

A cold weekend, then milder weather
Saturday morning will start with temperatures in the mid 30s. Northwesterly winds and frequent cloud cover will prevent temperatures from rising too much. Expect afternoon highs ranging from the upper 30s to low 40s.

However, the high will then pass towards the east, and the southerly winds will take over its rear. With plenty of sunshine, these winds should push temperatures into the upper 40s Monday afternoon.
