Modesto California weather forecast: rain, fog and cloudy skies

The Stanislaus County storm is expected to sweep over the area, bringing up to two inches of rain to the area.

Other areas in Northern California, such as Redding, could get 5 to 6 inches of rain, according to the Stanislaus County Office of Emergency Services.

Here’s the weather forecast for Modesto and how to prepare your home before the rain.

What is the weather forecast for Modesto?

There will be widespread dense fog in Modeston Thursday evening, especially after 2 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 47 degrees and a southeast wind around 6 mph.

On Friday there will be patchy fog before 11 a.m. and a 20% chance of rain after 11 a.m., the weather service said.

Today will be mostly cloudy with a high near 63 degrees and a southeast wind 6 to 9 mph.

Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible, according to the weather service.

The agency said that Friday night will be rainy and the low temperature will reach about 53 degrees.

The southeast wind speed is expected to reach 7 to 11 knots per hour.

The precipitation rate is 90%, and a tenth to a quarter of an inch is expected.

The meteorological services expected more rain on Saturday, with temperatures rising to nearly 60 degrees. Southeast winds are expected to reach about 11 mph, and the chance of rain is 80%.

Saturday night will also see showers with an 80% chance of rain, according to the agency. The minimum temperature will be around 51 degrees.

The weather service said there was an 80% chance of rain on Sunday, with rain expected. The maximum temperature will be near 58 degrees.

Cloudy skies and rain showers are expected on Sunday night, with the minimum temperature reaching around 54 degrees.

The weather on Monday will be cloudy with rain and the high temperature will reach 61 degrees, according to the Meteorological Service.

Rain is also possible Monday night, especially before 11 p.m. The sky will be mostly cloudy with a low around 51 degrees.

There is a chance of showers on Tuesday. It will be partly sunny with a high of 61 degrees.

There is also a chance of rain Tuesday night, the weather service said. The weather will be mostly cloudy with temperatures dropping to around 50 degrees.

Wednesday will have a slight chance of showers and partly sunny skies with a high near 61 degrees.

How do you prepare your home for rain?

Now is a good time to clean your gutters, according to StanEmergency.

To prevent street flooding, you should also remove any debris from storm drains, StanEmergency said in a Facebook post.

Leaves should be stacked 18 inches from the sidewalk to allow rain to pass into storm drains, according to the city of Modesto.
