Weather summary:

We're tracking high pressure in the StormTrack 12 Weather Center. The high will move off the New England coast Friday evening. This will bring mostly clear skies to our area. Temperatures remain cool, with lows in the 50s inland and mid-50s along the coast.

The high should drift south from Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket along the mid-Atlantic coast on Saturday. Warmth will rise to our west through the southern Appalachians and into the Ohio Valley. Expect more clouds to roll across East Carolina to start the weekend, thanks to a wave or disturbance along our coast. Highs will be a little closer to normal, with lows to the mid 70s inland and on the beaches.

StormTrack meteorologists are tracking 12 mostly sunny weather conditions near the weekend. The high will drift south on Sunday, ending just east of the Outer Banks. This will help bring higher temperatures to the area.

The rise in the region is expected to stabilize on Monday. You will enjoy a sunnier and warmer start to the work week. We will see a cold front push through the Ohio Valley into the Ozarks.

The rally will not move much on Tuesday. You will see sunny skies and warm temperatures.

The height will fall slightly offshore on Thursday. This will allow the trough or wave to move closer to the coast. A cold front will move across the mountains in our direction. You will see mostly cloudy skies and a chance of scattered rain.

Highs will be in the mid to high 70s on Sunday and low to mid 80s Monday through Thursday. Lows will be in the mid to upper 50s Saturday night and Sunday night, and low to mid 60s Monday night through Thursday night.
