November 15 – Weather forecast for Shreveport, Texarkana

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Clouds quickly returned to the ArkLaTex on Wednesday and are likely to continue across much of the area through the end of the week. Rainfall will stop until Sunday and Monday evening. Thanksgiving still looks fairly cold and dry.

Lots of sunshine: It was nice to see sunshine on Tuesday. Too bad it didn’t last long. Clouds quickly returned to much of the area Tuesday night and will likely continue for the next few days. Futurecast shows mostly cloudy skies over much of ArkLaTex Wednesday night. Clouds will thicken on Thursday with a little sunshine mixed in, especially over the western part of the region. A cold front will move into the area on Friday, with clouds remaining in place. It is doubtful that this front will bring any rain. We could see more sunshine on Saturday, but clouds will return on Sunday as our next disturbance approaches.

Current Futurecast episode

Near normal daytime temperatures: Don’t expect a significant change in temperatures over the next few days. Daytime highs on Thursday will likely be slightly above normal in the upper 60s to 70s. Lows will likely be in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Friday may be a little warmer before the cold front approaches. Cold air will return behind the front with highs this weekend in the mid to upper 60s.

Tomorrow’s forecast

Rainy day Monday: It still looks like a major upper level disturbance will move through the area on Monday. We will likely see mostly cloudy skies on Sunday as this system approaches. Chances of rain on Sunday look very slim at this point. Rain will increase Sunday night and Monday as this system moves through. It will likely drop Monday night and end early Tuesday. I still don’t think we have anything to worry about when it comes to severe weather. The model mix has been fairly consistent over the past few days in showing that most of the ArkLaTex will receive about 1 inch of rain from Sunday night through Tuesday morning.

Thanksgiving forecast: There has been little change since yesterday in the forecast for Thanksgiving. Expect some sunshine and fairly cool temperatures. Lows that morning will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Daytime highs will likely be in the to mid 60s. Temperatures will remain mild through the rest of the weekend with another chance of rain next Saturday.
