DENVER (KDVR) — Another West Coast storm is heading to Denver and Colorado weather to bring snow and cold for the second Saturday in a row.

This storm will not deliver the deep snow totals of last weekend. However, there will be snow accumulation across the region, and according to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado’s most accurate forecast, roads will be slippery on Saturday and storms will create shovelable snow as well.

Weather tonight: Possibility of snow on the roads

As snow returns and continues throughout the night, roads will likely become slippery. Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing, creating some travel issues.

The coldest lows will be overnight in the Colorado mountains with readings in the single digits and teens. The Pinpoint Weather team expects temperatures to be in the low to mid 20s in Denver and most of the Front Range and eastern Plains.

Weather tomorrow: intermittent snow showers

Snow continues until late Saturday night before ending from north to south. Sometimes on Saturday, the snow will fall and stop. During the day, the intensity of snow showers will change from light to heavy.

These heavier snow bands are where deeper snow totals of up to 6 inches can be found in some locations. Travel will be smooth and slow especially early Saturday and again after sunset.

Looking ahead: Sunshine returns with seasonal temperatures

The sky will become clear by Sunday morning. Temperatures will remain cold with a fresh blanket of snow covering the ground. If side streets thaw occurs Sunday, motorists can expect it to freeze over again Sunday night.

The forecast for the rest of next week looks mainly sunny with more melting. Temperatures will slowly rise into the seasonable 40s before reaching the milder 50s late in the week.

There is a slight chance that rain/snow will return to the area by Friday. However, it does not currently look like the rain will lead to a third Saturday of snow.
