Severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m.; Cool and cloudy on Monday

Tonight’s forecast:
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Cheyenne, Kiowa, Otero, Bent, Browers, Las Animas and Baca counties until 10 p.m. Strong storms may have hailstones 1-2 inches in diameter and wind gusts of 60-70 mph.


Watch for severe thunderstorms on September 10, 2023

Once the severe threat subsides tonight, rain continues across the area with 1-2 inches of rain falling through Monday morning. Monday will become more settled, cloudy and cool with scattered thunderstorms again in the evening.

Colorado Springs Forecast: Low: 50; high: 63;
Rain and thunderstorms will continue tonight until Monday morning. More rain is expected Monday afternoon, then dry Monday night.

Pueblo Expectations: Low: 54; high: 68;
Tonight will witness heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some rain continuing until Monday morning. On Monday afternoon, the weather will look cloudy and cold with a low chance of precipitation.

Canon City Predictions: a little: 55; high: 65;
Rain and thunderstorms will continue throughout the night and will gradually recede on Monday. It will be cool and cloudy tomorrow with only scattered thunderstorm activity in the afternoon.

Woodland Park Predictions: a little: 42; high: 58;
The rain showers will continue intermittently throughout the night. On Monday, the weather will be cloudy and cold with another chance of rain in the afternoon.

Triple Lakes forecast: a little: 46; high: 61;
Rain and thunderstorms are likely overnight, and the weather will be cloudy and cold next Monday. There is a chance of another round of thunderstorms Monday afternoon.

Plains forecast: a little: 1950s; high: 1960s;
Severe thunderstorm watch until 10pm tonight for counties in pink above. Then the precipitation continues throughout the night, but it loses its intensity. Monday will be mostly cloudy and cool with scattered showers again in the afternoon.

Valsenburg and Trinidad forecast: a little: 52/52; high: 61/62;
Heavy rain is expected overnight and will recede on Monday morning. Monday will be cloudy and cool with an isolated afternoon thunderstorm again.

Mountain Forecast: Low: 1940s; high: the fifties and sixties;
Heavy rain is likely overnight, diminishing as the sun rises. The weather will be mostly cloudy on Monday, with intermittent rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Extended Outlook Outlook:
The rest of this week will be cool in the 60s and 70s with sunshine in the morning and then a chance for afternoon thunderstorms. We will gradually dry out with a cool but sunny weekend.
