Sprinkles for the weekend
Today is the first day of light rain and showers from the coast. Rain is possible until 4 p.m. The rain will be light and annoying at most. Rainfall totals will be less than a tenth of an inch in total on Thursday and Friday. Temperatures in the 70s. Tonight will be cloudy with a chance of patchy fog, especially south of I-10. Overnight lows will be in the lower 60s.
Temperatures will rise to the mid-70s Friday afternoon. More sprays are possible under overcast skies. Rain totals don’t add up to much.
Placement is key for Saturday rain:
Starting early Saturday morning, rain chances increase. What’s new today is that we have a threat of street flooding in most areas of Southeast Texas. Heavy rain is expected from a small area of low pressure and front. The key is where the front stalls are. It now appears that the front stalls are closer to Dallas, Texas. This means the heaviest rain on Saturday will be north of I-10.
A cold front moves through Sunday:
More rain is expected on Sunday. The front is moving and heading south in the afternoon. He will be off the coast in the evening for the Super Bowl
When the front passes through, there will be a low chance of severe weather.
It looks like most of the rain on Friday will fall in the morning, which could dry us out for any Super Bowl party!
Valentine’s Day forecast:
We won’t break any hearts with our Valentine’s Day predictions! It looks to be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 60s.
10 day forecast:
Cold weather returns next week. Monday’s high is in the 50s with the morning back in the 40s. Our next chance for rain is next weekend.
