Tamil Nadu Rain: Indian Meteorological Department (The IMD expects rain to continue until tomorrow, November 8, in light of the presence of a cyclonic movement over the southeastern Arabian Sea.

Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh have witnessed heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am today. In Tamil Nadu, Tenkasi district recorded 12 cm of rain and Ayikudi received 10 cm of rain on November 6.

Tamil Nadu has witnessed heavy rainfall over the past few days, leading to waterlogging in several areas. Areas including Karur, Pasupathipalayam and Tadavalaja were affected, as rain caused major roads to become waterlogged.

Isolated places over coastal Karnataka and Kerala also recorded heavy rainfall.

Weather forecast for the next four days

The Indian Meteorological Department has reported a cyclonic circulation over the southeastern Arabian Sea off the coast of Kerala at low and middle tropospheric levels. The cyclone is expected to move from the west and northwest towards the southeast, adjacent to the eastern and central Arabian Sea.

Following this weather pattern, a low pressure area is expected to form over the east-central Arabian Sea on November 8. The southern region of the Indian Peninsula is expected to witness light to moderate rain during the next 4 to 5 days and then decrease.

Moreover, there are chances of heavy rains in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep on November 6, Rayalaseema and coastal Karnataka on November 6 and 7, Kerala-Mahi from November 6-9, and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and south interior Karnataka from November. 6 to 8.

There are chances of a western disturbance to bring rain in the western Himalayan region from the night of November 7. With these prevailing weather conditions, light rain or snowfall is likely at isolated locations from November 7 to 10 in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may face similar conditions from November 8 to 10.

In addition, scattered light rains are expected over western Rajasthan on November 8 and 9, as well as in Punjab on November 9.

Next week, Andaman and Nicobar Islands are likely to witness scattered light to moderate rains, while Konkan, Goa and Madhya districts of Maharashtra can expect light to moderate rains over the next five days.
