Tamworth weather forecast ahead of the country music festival | Country Town

We are just two days away from day 52 Tamworth Country Music Festival, and it’s shaping up to be hot. The Met Office reported temperatures topping 34 degrees Celsius during the first five days of the popular 10-day festival.

The opening date for this year’s mega event – Friday 19 January – is set to be a very warm and sunny 35°C, and light winds will likely not do much to keep the heat away. On Saturday, temperatures remain the same, with partly cloudy conditions and the possibility of winds. Another 35°C high follows on Sunday – mostly sunny, light winds and a slight chance of rain reported.

That’s the forecast for the weekend – at the time of writing, anyway – but Monday and Tuesday could be even hotter. Currently, Monday is expected to be very hot and sunny with a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, while Tuesday will be one degree hotter.

This weekend, punters should be advised to wear sunscreen from 8:50 a.m. to 5:20 p.m., when the UV Index is expected to reach 13. In addition to sun protection – sunscreen, sunglasses, and Shade where possible – Country Town She recommends that attendees drink plenty of water, and if you drink alcohol in the sun, balance beer with water, food and shelter.

The heat is dangerous for many, and some people will not realize how brutal it is to stand and dance in the sun over long periods of time. If you’re attending the Tamworth Country Music Festival with friends, keep an eye on them as the weather heats up, and if you see someone struggling, either help them hydrate and relax or look for emergency personnel on site.

This year’s Tamworth Country Music Festival will run over ten days, from Friday 19 January to Sunday 28 January. It’s a free, non-gated event held around the titular city in northwestern New South Wales.
