Temperatures are rising in southern Colorado over Veterans Day weekend

Today’s forecast:

There’s a sunny day for veterans in southern Colorado. High pressure, dry air, light wind, ideal. Thank you to everyone who served our country. Mother Nature certainly gives us a great weekend of activities. We will see near average to slightly above average temperatures today, as we continue to slowly warm each day.

Colorado Springs Forecast: High: 55; a little: 27.
Sunny and dry. No weather issues – quick warm up during the day and gorgeous clear blue skies. Light northerly winds, speed of about 10 knots per hour.

Pueblo Expectations: High: 62; a little: 26.
At the Veterans Day Parade, temperatures start in the low 40s and, by noon, reach the upper 50s. The 10 best weather days and perfect conditions to celebrate our nation’s heroes.

Canon City Forecast: high: 61; a little: 35.
Sunny and beautiful. It’s hard to say more than that… This is going to be a very beautiful day!

Woodland Park Forecast: high: 50; a little: 26.
Sunny and seasonal, with westerly breezes up to 15 mph in the afternoon. Some clouds arrive around 7:00 PM which will temporarily obscure your view of the stars, but they won’t last all night.

Triple Lakes Forecast: high: 1950s; a little: The twenties.
Sunny and nice! Clear skies all day, with light winds all day. If you’re heading to Denver for the Denver Film Festival, you’ll find yourself sunny and dry, too.

Plains Forecast: high: 1960s; a little: Upper twenties.
Good weather for cycling, with dry, crystal clear blue skies.

Forecast for Walsenburg and Trinidad: high: 1950s; a little: The twenties.
Sunny, with west winds between 10 and 15 mph. Dry, cloudy, bland. However, we could use some rain – we are well below average for the past 30 days.

Mountain Forecast: High: 1940s; a little: Upper twenties.
Sunny and nice! A good day for hiking at any elevation with relatively light winds even above the tree line from the west at 10-15 mph. The night is so cold, if you are camping, you will definitely need a 0 degree sleeping bag.

Extended forecast forecast:

High pressure keeps temperatures warm and skies clear over the next few days, with temperatures warming through at least Wednesday. Our next weather maker is still a little beyond the seven-day window at the moment, and will likely arrive late next weekend. At the very least, there is a lull on our way, with rain chances still waiting to be seen. Stay tuned.
