Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department has forecast possible active monsoon conditions over the north of the peninsula and neighboring central and eastern India over the next four days. According to IMD, isolated heavy rainfall is very likely in Maharashtra till September 8.

The Meteorological Department also predicted heavy rains in many states until September 8. Moreover, it has forecast increased rainfall activity with isolated heavy falls over Madhya Pradesh from September 5 to 8 and over Gujarat on September 7 and 8.

Moreover, moderate rainfall is likely to continue in Kerala for the next five days with heavy rainfall likely at isolated places from September 4 to 8.

East India: Light/moderately widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall activity very likely over Ganges in West Bengal during 05-07; Odisha during 05 to 08; Jharkhand on 05 and 08 and on Andaman and Nicobar Islands during September 05 to 09.

South India: Fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated very heavy rainfall likely over coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana and interior North Karnataka 06, over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during 05-07; Over coastal and southern interior Karnataka on 08 and 09 and over Kerala and Mahe during the period from 05 to 09 September.

Central India: Light/moderate widespread to widespread rain/thunderstorm and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha during 05 and 09; over Chhattisgarh during the period from 05 to 07; Over the western state of Madhya Pradesh during the period from 06 to 09 September. Very heavy rains are also likely to occur in Vidarbha on September 06.

West India: Light/moderately widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm and lightning with isolated very heavy rainfall likely over Marathwada during 05-08 and over Konkan and Goa during 07-09 and Madhya Maharashtra during 06-09 September and on Gujarat region on September 08

Northeast India: Light/moderate to fairly widespread rainfall/thunderstorm with isolated heavy rainfall activity is very likely over Assam and Meghalaya on 08-09 and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during 07-09 September.

Northwest India: Light/moderate isolated to scattered rain/thunderstorm with isolated heavy rainfall activity very likely over Western Uttar Pradesh on 6th; Over eastern Uttar Pradesh on 06 and 07; And on eastern Rajasthan during 07 and 09; On Uttarakhand on 08 and 09 September.
