Tracy Wolfson provides the latest updates on conditions in Buffalo

The Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game was postponed once, and fans are curious to see if conditions have improved. CBS Sports correspondent Tracy Wolfson provided a weather update regarding conditions in Buffalo.

“We need to talk,” the “We Need to Talk” host said.

“I stay warm because I’m inside, but it’s scary outside. It’s cold and snowy and the wind is howling. There’s a winter storm warning still in effect until about 7 a.m. tomorrow morning. And there’s a travel ban that they hope they can lift later this afternoon.” This day, but right now, no one can go anywhere, so nothing happens on the field either.

Wolfson continued:

“You can’t get up there to shovel or plow, but once they get going, they’ll start on the outside, and move in. As far as the Pittsburgh Steelers, they had some meetings this morning. They’re doing a walkthrough right now and I’m hoping to take off at 3 p.m. And I’m told there’s basically an option to drive if they can’t get here. The flight takes about three hours. As for the Bills, Josh Allen spent some time on the field yesterday with “the coaches working their tails off. “But right now, the Bills are all home due to the travel ban, staying safe in place until further notice, but it’s just a wait-and-see approach here in Buffalo.”

Weather at Buffalo Bills stadium today

According to BET MGM, the expected weather at kickoff for the wildcard match is 22 degrees, with AccuWeather’s RealFeel at -5 degrees.

Furthermore, there is an 80% chance of snow in the afternoon, with 3.5 inches of snow expected to accumulate during the day. Therefore, a winter storm watch is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Monday morning.

#to update: The Steelers and their coaches took the flight from Pittsburgh where the game was unlikely to be postponed.

Afternoon winds are also expected to be from the west at 27 mph, with gusts of 44 mph. The US National Weather Service reported,

“Winds could reach 65 mph Saturday evening and Saturday, with winds somewhat lower than expected during the bulk of the lake-effect snow event.”

Bills vs. Steelers: How to watch

The Buffalo Bills vs Pittsburgh Steelers matchup is a crucial matchup in the wildcard round for 2024. Both teams might fancy their chances in the matchup, with the Bills being the slight favorite.

Josh Allen and company will have home run advantage in this game and will look to make it count against Mike Tomlin’s team.

Buffalo is one of the hottest teams in the league, and they just started inflicting a heartbreaking loss on the Miami Dolphins in Week 18. The Dolphins have since been sent to Cancun by the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.

As for the Pittsburgh Steelers, they had a tough run in the playoffs, and needed to get some results to make their way. Those Week 18 results favored the Steelers, and they were tied against the Bills.

Mason Rudolph and Co. will have their work cut out for them on a cold field, but anything can happen in the postseason. One thing is for sure: a team coached by Mike Tomlin will never go down without a fight.
