Beautiful and mostly dry Memorial Day

Updated: 3 hours ago

QUINCY (WGEM) – Some overnight clouds continue to move out of our area. So, we're basically looking at a sunny start to the day. Some patchy fog along water areas, such as rivers, is not excluded. if If fog can develop, it will not be widespread and will dissipate very quickly within an hour after sunrise. Morning temperatures start in the mid 50s to low 60s. Winds will blow light from the northwest at a speed ranging between 5-12 knots per hour. Later this afternoon, wind speeds will increase slightly with gusts between 20 and 25 mph. However, today will turn out beautiful. We will have sunny skies for the first half of the day. A short wave (atmospheric kink) will pass nearby later this afternoon/evening. So after about 1pm, the sky will turn sunny to partly cloudy. Although humidity will be limited, we can't rule out a quick shower or two after around 2pm/3pm. If a rain shower or two occur, they should evacuate the area by approximately 6pm/7pm. Otherwise, skies are expected to be sunny during the rest of the evening. Highs will range from the mid-70s to near 80 degrees, depending on where you live in the Tri-States. Skies will remain clear through the night with lows in the mid 50s. Very seasonal.
