Monday (February 26):

A new trough-shaped western disturbance whose axis lies 5.8 km above mean sea level and extends roughly along Long. 53°E north of Lat. 30 degrees north. It is very likely to cause light rain/scattered snowfall over the Western Himalayan region on February 26 and 27 with enhanced activity over the region and accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal. Pradesh February 26.

An active Western Disturbance is also likely to affect the western Himalayan region from February 29 and the adjacent plains from March 1 to 4, with peak intensity on March 2 and 3.

High humidity is also expected to feed from the Arabian Sea into northwest India from March 1 to 3, which is likely to bring heavy rain/snowfall over the western Himalayan region during the same period.

Meanwhile, the trough is located almost to the west along the Long. 94°E north of Lat. 25 degrees north. Under its influence, scattered light to moderate rain/snowfall is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh during the next six days. Light to moderate rains are also possible over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from February 28 to 29.

In addition, the trough extends from Vidarbha to northern Kerala via Marathwada and Karnataka and the trough in the western regions extends almost along Long. 84°E north of Lat. 25 degrees north. Under the influence of these systems, scattered light or moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over Chhattisgarh, Marathwada and Vidarbha on February 26-27, over Telangana on February 26 and over Bihar on February 27. Gusty winds are expected to blow over Jharkhand on February 27 with hailstorms expected over eastern Madhya Pradesh from February 26 to 28; Over the western state of Madhya Pradesh on February 27; On Vidarbha on February 26 and 27; And in Chhattisgarh on February 26.

Finally, hot and humid weather is expected to prevail over Kerala and Tamil Nadu on February 26 and over Rayalaseema from February 26 to 27.
