Monday (July 3):

Tuesday (July 4):

  • Heavy to very heavy rainfall with very heavy falls is expected over coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe.

  • Heavy rainfall has been forecast at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, North Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
  • Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places over Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

The monsoon basin is located south of its natural location. Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation is located over the central parts of Uttar Pradesh, while a marine trough extends at mean sea level from the southern Maharashtra coast to the Kerala coast. In addition, there is a cyclonic circulation over the central parts of the southern Bay of Bengal and another cyclonic circulation over the northern Andaman Sea. South India:

Light to moderate scattered or widespread rain is likely to continue in the region during the next five days. In addition, heavy to heavy rains are also expected over south interior Karnataka, coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe during the next five days and on coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam from July 3 to 5.

Extremely heavy rainfall may hit coastal areas and south interior Karnataka on July 4 and Kerala and Mahe from July 4-5. Meanwhile, we could receive very heavy rains over Telangana from July 4-5, over Rayalaseema from July 3-5, over north interior Karnataka on July 4, 6 and 7, and over Lakshadweep on July 4.

West India:

Fairly widespread or widespread light to moderate rain with heavy to very heavy rainfall is in the books over Konkan, Goa and Ghat districts of Madhya Maharashtra during the next five days, and over Gujarat from July 6-7.
