Friday (November 10)
- Heavy rain is possible at isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Kerala Mahe.
- Widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely in Lakshadweep.
- Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected over Andaman Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and coastal Karnataka.
- Scattered rain/snow may affect Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
- Scattered rain and thunderstorms may occur over Konkan Goa, north and south interior Karnataka.
- Scattered rain/snow is likely over Uttarakhand.
- Scattered rain may hit Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and Telangana.
Saturday (November 11)
- Heavy rain is possible at isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
- Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected over Andaman Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and coastal Karnataka.
- Scattered rain/snow may affect Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
- Scattered rain is likely in Arunachal Pradesh, Konkan Goa and Karnataka.
- Dense fog is likely in isolated places on the foothills of the Himalayas early in the morning.
5-day forecast nationwide
The northeast monsoon and cyclonic movement are expected to dominate the southern Indian peninsula, bringing “isolated” to “widespread” rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms over the next five days.
Under the influence of the above-mentioned systems, heavy rain (=64.5 mm/day) Possible in isolated places of Tamil Nadu on Friday and Saturday, and Kerala – Mahe on Friday. Light to moderate isolated to scattered rain may occur in Konkan Goa and Madhya Maharashtra on Friday and Saturday.
The Western Disturbance (WD) is supposed to impact western Himalayan regions till Friday (peaking on Thursday), bringing ‘isolated’ to ‘scattered’ rain/snowfall over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Scattered light rain is expected in Punjab. Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh and northern Rajasthan on Friday.
Dry weather is expected to prevail over the rest of the country during this forecast period.
Maximum temperatures are expected to be below normal in northwest India over the next five days, while higher than normal in the rest of the country, with no heatwave.
The overnight minimum should remain higher than usual across the country. Radiative cooling could produce dense fog over the foothills of the Himalayas in the morning hours during the next few days.
