- Heavy rains are likely over Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Lakshadweep.
- Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty winds are expected over Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep.
- Thunderstorms with lightning are expected over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Konkan, Goa, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
Tuesday (October 17):
- Heavy rains are very likely at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe.
- Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning accompanied by gusty winds are found in the books of Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep. With lightning over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

The line of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon continues to pass through Forbesganj, Malda, Vishakhapatnam, Nalgonda, Raichur and Vengurla.
Meanwhile, a western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation is located over Jammu province and neighboring Pakistan, with an induced cyclonic circulation over Punjab. There is another western disturbance as a trough that runs roughly along Long. 64°E north of Lat. 28°N.
In addition, there is moisture feeding from the Arabian Sea to northwest India. A cyclonic circulation is located over the coast of Tamil Nadu and its adjoining areas, while another is located over the Lakshadweep region, which is adjacent to the southeastern Arabian Sea and the coast of Kerala. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to develop over the southeastern Arabian Sea and adjacent to the east-central Arabian Sea around October 17. It is likely to move from the west to the northwest and intensify further over the next 48 hours.
Northwest India:
Light to moderate rain with isolated thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan from October 16-17.
Scattered heavy rains are also likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab in October.
South India:
Light to moderate heavy rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds (30-40 kmph) and lightning are expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe from October 16 to 17 and over Lakshadweep district and interior south Karnataka on October 16.
Very heavy rains are also likely in Kerala and Mahe on October 16.
East India:
Light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over Andaman and Nicobar Islands from 16 to 19 October.
