The low pressure area is located over the northwestern Bay of Bengal and adjoining coasts of West Bengal and northern Odisha with an associated cyclonic circulation. It is likely to move from west to northwest across northern Odisha and southern Jharkhand during the next two days. Another cyclonic circulation is located over southwest Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, the monsoon trough shifts southward to its normal position and passes through Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna, Siddhi, Daltonganj and the center of the low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coasts of West Bengal and northern Odisha and then southeastward to eastern Bay of Bengal.

West India:

Fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Saurashtra and Kutch on September 20.

East India:

Light to moderate and fairly widespread to widespread rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall in the books over the Ganges in West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, sub-West Bengal Himalayas and Sikkim from September 20 to 22 and Bihar in the period From 21 to 23 September.

Very heavy rainfall is also possible in Odisha from September 20 to 21.

Northeast India:

Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain along with thunderstorms with isolated heavy rainfall activity is expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh from September 20 to 23.

Very heavy rainfall is also likely over Nagaland and Manipur from September 20-21 and over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya from September 21-22.

Central India:

Widespread light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh from September 20 to 22, eastern Madhya Pradesh from September 21 to 23, and Vidarbha and western Madhya Pradesh from September 20 to 22. From 22 to 23 September.

South India:

Fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh on September 20.
